The Virtual Academy is another Knowledge Exchange™ testbed established by The Institute for Working Futures Pty. Ltd. (Working Futures™). You can access free and commercial courses associated with a competency, career pathway (job role), or qualification. Competencies may be national competencies, behavioural competencies or capabilities, and/or occupational or other skill attributes.
The Virtual Academy has a current focus on promoting competency development in three Leadership and Management fields:
- General leadership and management
- Learning (Training and HRD)
- Transport and Logistics

The Virtual Academy is neither a training provider nor a broker. The Leadership and Management Virtual Academy ensures learning and assessment is driven by your needs. Whether an individual, an enterprise or industry body you can use our tools to complete a needs analysis and identify skill gaps.
All learning needs will be recorded in an individual’s Development Plan. Any and all units (modules and competencies) in the package can credit against national qualifications. As learning or recognition occurs it will be tracked and then recoded in your Skillspassport. You manage the addition of other records and who can view your profile.
At all times you may opt to access content associated with learning and knowledge, or for recognising competencies already held. Free online content has been made available wherever possible. Other content can be accessed commercially on a fee per person or licensing arrangement. Where you believe you have a competency and want it to credit towards a formal qualification it is possible to access recognition of prior learning/competency (RPL) tool.

All learning can link to a qualification or credential while still being packaged across occupations, levels of qualification or courses.
This Virtual Academy can be configured and branded to be your organisation’s solution. Instead of investing in complex and costly learning technology and systems the Virtual Academy can be cloned to your needs. This can usually be organised in 24 hours. Imagine an e-learning site configured with your content and brand without the usual hassles and expense.
